Deze dag staat in het teken van publiekswerk in relatie tot artistieke praktijk in de wijk. Samen met kunstenaars, publiekswerkers en andere kunstprofessionals onderzoeken we hoe artistieke autonomie zich verhoudt tot sociale contexten en domeinoverstijgend werken.
Aan de hand van concrete praktijkvoorbeelden verkennen we vragen als:
Hoe geven we kunst vrije ruimte? Hoe verdedigen we de autonomie van de kunstenaar, om schoonheid te delen, plezier te maken, te ontregelen, te protesteren met humor of bloedserieus en nieuwe perspectieven te openen?
Samen met reisleider en publiekswerker, Job Kühlkamp, bezoeken we locaties die onderdeel zijn van de context waarin 2turvenhoog werkt. We bezoeken voorstellingen, spreken met kunstenaars en publiekswerkers over hun samenwerking en vragen aan de directeur van een opvanglocatie hoe het is om als organisatie samen te werken met kunstenaars en publiekswerkers. Tijdens de dag en de ronde tafel gaan we met elkaar in gesprek over:
publiekswerk in relatie tot artistieke praktijk en context
de publiekswerker als bemiddelaar én bewaker van de autonomie van de kunstenaar
sociale ruimte als plek voor ontmoeting en artistiek onderzoek
de positie van de kunstenaar binnen wijkgericht en domeinoverstijgend werken
Deze dag wordt georganiseerd voor iedereen die als kunstenaar of organisatie in relatie tot je omgeving werk ontwikkelt. Een dag voor iedere organisatie die nog geen publiekswerker heeft, en nieuwsgierig is naar alles dat het oplevert als je er eentje uitnodigt in je organisatie.
Audience engagement in relation to artistic practice in the neighbourhood

This day focuses on audience engagement in relation to artistic practice within the neighbourhood. Together with artists, audience engagement practitioners, and other arts professionals, we explore how artistic autonomy relates to social contexts and cross-sector collaboration.
Using concrete examples from practice, we explore questions such as:
How do we give art the freedom it needs? How do we defend the autonomy of the artist—to share beauty, create joy, disrupt, protest with humour or with full seriousness, and open up new perspectives?
Together with guide and audience engagement practitioner Job Kühlkamp, we visit locations that form part of the context in which 2turvenhoog works. We attend performances, speak with artists and audience engagement practitioners about their collaboration, and ask the director of a childcare organisation what it is like to work as an institution with artists and audience engagement practitioners. Throughout the day and during the round-table discussion, we engage in dialogue about:
- audience engagement in relation to artistic practice and context
- the audience engagement practitioner as mediator and guardian of artistic autonomy
- social space as a site for encounter and artistic research
- the position of the artist within neighbourhood-based and cross-sector practices
This day is organised for anyone who develops work as an artist or organisation in relation to their surroundings. It is also intended for organisations that do not yet work with an audience engagement practitioner and are curious about what it can offer to invite one into their organisation.
