Over de voorstelling
In Archipel speelt de acteur Laurent Dupont met de reacties van zijn publiek en daardoor is iedere voorstelling uniek. Hij luistert, kijkt en kopieert en daardoor maakt hij steeds nieuwe beelden en ritmes. De voorstelling is gemaakt in 1992. Hij was één van de eerste makers die het durfde en belangrijk vond om kinderen al vanaf een heel jonge leeftijd mee te nemen in performancekunst.
Nauwgezet luistert hij naar de reacties en laat deze de route van de reis bepalen. Elke stap is een gelegenheid om herinneringen en ervaringen uit te wisselen. Zo is geen enkele voorstelling hetzelfde. “Mijn artistieke reis heeft zijn oorsprong in dans en stem. Deze twee energieën zijn kneedbaar en rebels.“ aldus maker en performer Laurent Dupont.

In Archipelago, actor Laurent Dupont plays with his audience’s responses – which makes every show unique. He listens, watches and copies, creating ever-new images and rhythms. This production was initiated in 1992. He was one of the first makers who dared to – and considered it important to – include children in the performing arts from a very young age.
He listens carefully to their responses, and these determine the route taken in the show. Each step is an opportunity to exchange memories and experiences. No two performances are the same. “My artistic journey originated in dance and the voice. Two malleable, rebellious energies”, maker and performer Laurent Dupont has said.

Laurent Dupont is een regisseur en comedian, opgeleid in de kunst van het dansen en zingen. In 1980 richtte hij samen met beeldende kunstenaar Pierangela Allegro en muzikant en videograaf Michel Sambin TAM teatromusica op, een experimenteel muziektheatergezelschap in Italië. Hij heeft zijn artistiek onderzoek altijd gedaan in relatie tot jonge kinderen en laat zich in het moment inspireren door hun reacties. Dit is het onderwerp geweest van vele coproducties die hij gedaan heeft in o.a. Duitsland, Australië, Finland en Frankrijk. Zijn shows komen vaak tot stand door artistieke residenties en hij is in Europa heel inspirerend voor andere theatermakers. Sinds 2014 is hij artistiek directeur van Compagnie ACTA in de Banlieue van Parijs.

Laurent Dupont is a director and comedian trained in the arts of dance and song. In 1980, he founded TAM teatromusica, an experimental musical theatre company based in Italy, with visual artist Pierangela Allegro and musician and video artist Michel Sambin. He has always carried out his artistic research in relation to young children, drawing inspiration from their responses in the moment. This has been the basis for many co-productions in Germany, Australia, Finland and France, among other countries. His shows often come about through artistic residencies and he is a source of great inspiration to other theatre-makers in Europe. From 2014, he has been the artistic director of Compagnie ACTA in the Banlieue of Paris.
